Its been five years since RKS identified that there was then an emerging student debt crisis. Today, almost 1.4 trillion dollars are owed with an average over $35,000 for over 40 million people who attended college and vocational schools (not all graduated). After a great Beta launch in which we saw great enthusiasm and gained many insights, we advanced every inch of the solution and have now re-launched our exciting New and Innovative Solution to Student Debt. This has been a tremendous effort of many friends and partners to help RKS incubate a new FinTech solution conceived in Psycho-Aesthetics, our 25 year old Design Thinking methodology (P/A). We hope to connect those with debt to their personal and professional networks so that people can fulfill their desire to help others, especially those who have put in the time and effort to advance themselves through education and deserve to live the lives they once dreamed of; www.loangifting.com
The MediMixer is the first ever interactive children's medicine mixer and dispenser with a reward system attached; it solves a real life problem and even comes apart easily for fast washing! Working with entrepreneurs is always exciting for the team here at RKS. We fell in love with the concept of what two parents were doing for the rest of the world by taking their solution to their own family challenge and helping so many others. We were immediately impressed with their drive and passion combined with being collaborative wonderful people. The solution makes it enchanting for the kids, interactive for them to prepare their own medicine, game-ified for them to beat the sand timer and rewarding for them to receive tickets. Kids love it, parents love it; everyone's happy and healthy ! (Its up on Kickstarter now)
RKS had the pleasure for the sixth time of hosting a workshop for the top design students from CSULB. The relationship with began soon after Predictable Magic was published in 2010 when RKS founder, Ravi Sawhney appeared at a lecture series. Speaking on the experience of hosting workshops, Ravi said that, “Working with the brilliant minds that are the future of design, inspires us all. And, P/A teaches them how to insight, synthesize, plan, innovate, and execute.” RKS has collaborated with CSULB for years, and recently had the pleasure of teaching these students Psycho-Aesthetics, which is the methodology that is implemented on each project at RKS.
RKS welcomed a specialized group of global leaders from the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Italy this past week. These leaders were in Los Angeles to take part of the UCLA Anderson School of Management’s International Exchange program. These world class figures were representing 17 different countries, all wanting insight to the specific approach RKS has for each design and innovation. RKS takes great pride in hosting as many groups and individuals as possible in the intriguing world of design.
For decades, designers have been waiting and petitioning for a voice within politics. With their ability to use innovation and design thinking to make a huge positive impact and even change the world, designers have long deserved, and needed, a voice to educate policymakers. A voice is needed to fill the void in advocacy on behalf of innovation and technology. RKS CEO & Founder, Ravi Sawhney, accepted an invitation to be a member of TechNet, an exclusive advocacy group of CEOs and senior executives from 70 of America’s iconic innovation companies. Companies in TechNet include: Accenture, Amazon, Apple, AT&T, Cisco, Kleiner Perkins, Microsoft, Oracle, PayPal, SalesForce, eBay, Visa, Google, HP, Intuit, and his latest start-up LoanGifting just to name a few.
